Broadside Adventures Diebler Outdoors The 2008 South Dakota Pheasant Hunting Season opens October 18th. South Dakota is going to have great Wild Pheasant numbers again this season. The Chuckar Partridge and Hungarian Partridge are also looking great this year. We are seeing a lot of nests out in the fields. It has been a long time since we had descent numbers of Hungarian Partridge anywhere in the state. We transplanted a few thousand Hungarian Partridge and Chuckar Partridge last year and it is definitely paying off. You
are able to harvest three (3) Pheasants, five (5) Partridge, in any combination
of Hungarian and Chuckar Partridge and three (3) Sharptail Grouse.
We
also have transplanted some Black Pheasants and Buff colored Pheasants.
These are beautiful birds. We have already released them this year at only
five (5) weeks of age. We only have about 10-20% of these birds survive
but when we do it this way they fly just as hard and are as elusive as
pheasants born in the wild. Some of these five week old birds we release
do get lucky enough to mix in with a wild hens brood of chicks.
WE LITERALLY HAVE THOUSANDS OF HEN PHEASANTS ON NESTS RIGHT NOW. I have lived in South Dakota my entire life and haven’t ever seen Wild Pheasant numbers like they were last season. This year is going to HAVE HIGHER NUMBERS OF BIRDS Yet. Our South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks is even considering raising the limit from three ringneck pheasants per day to four ringneck pheasants per person per day. We will cater to your every need whether your a small family group or a corporate group of 20 or more people. We will do everything in our power to make this your pheasant hunt of a lifetime. No request is too large or small. We have more pheasants than ever. South Dakota Pheasant Hunting should be great this year, not just for our customers, but for pheasant hunters throughout the major pheasant populated areas of the state. South Dakota Ringneck Pheasant Hunting. You will be hunting one of South Dakota's best pheasant hunting areas. The lodge is located in the heart of the James River valley, just South of Aberdeen South Dakota, you will find just about everything South Dakota has to offer for hunting in the Jim River Valley. We also have available pheasant hunting grounds in some of the best counties in South Dakota for Pheasant Hunting. We have hunting land around the Ipswich, Craven, Eureka, Hosmer, Leola, Redfield, Hitchcock, Tulare, and Miller areas. You will recognize any of these areas as some of the premiere Pheasant Hunting grounds in South Dakota. These areas also hold fine Grouse Hunting as well. We also offer Archery Whitetail Deer, Chukar, Hungarian partridge, Morning Doves, Ducks, Spring Snow Goose Hunt With 1.5+ million Birds In The County At Peak Times, Honker Depredation Season that starts in September. Our Canadian Honker depredation hunts in September and our Spring Snow Goose hunts have very liberal harvest limits. We also offer Varmints, Fox, Coyote, Raccoon, and Walleye Fishing on the Missouri River. We also can guide you to just about any other Fresh Water Species with in a 1 1/2 hour drive from the lodge. Some of the Waterfowl Hunts and Whitetail Deer Hunts are time sensitive for peak periods. We want to be able to give you the best hunt we possibly can, and we will! There are a number of Boone & Crocket Whitetail's taken from this area each year. As far as big racks go, it doesn't get any better than this. These bruisers can tip the scales at 250 and even over 300 pounds. We have a very nice lodge with 20 beds and the comforts of home. If you have a larger group we will make the necessary arrangements to make sure all our customers are as comfortable as at home. You are more then welcome to bring your own dogs. We have doggie lodging as well. If you don't have a dog, you will be hunting behind some of the finest German Shorthairs and Labs around. We do have pups and started dogs available at certain times of the year but they generally go fast. Often they are sold before we can get them posted on the site. If you are interested in one of our started dogs or pups, it would be a good idea to call and talk with us. Often we do have a waiting list.
